In the Parish Hall, we have installed a new heating and AC system which is easy to adjust and should guarantee that all of us are comfortable at coffee hour, blood drives, the Holiday Bazaar, and other activities at St. Paul's. We are very grateful to the two parish families who anonymously donated $14,000 toward the cost of the project, which is approximately $35,000 in total. The balance of the project will be paid using St. Paul's funds, but we hope to replenish those funds to help us "pay back" our endowment funds that we are using to make sure the project is completed this fall. If anyone is called to help us with payment for this project, please contact one of us for a confidential conversation.
Outside, we are very grateful for the beautiful new garden on the east side (Garrison St.) donated and financed by Miriam and Tim Cake. It is not only beautiful, it provides a great example of options for using plants and landscaping that are more suitable for our Colorado climate as we consider future landscaping projects. In the courtyard, we have used parish funds for concrete work to improve our sidewalks and particularly our egress from the double glass doors and the door from the parish hall.
Thank you to Don Davenport and Tim Cake for their time and skills in overseeing all these projects. To be successful, it's important to have St. Paul's folks directly involved. We also thank Chuck Mitchell for his weekly care for the lawn and gardens and for the donation of many bulbs that are being planted so we will be even more beautiful next spring.
In church we often mention that it takes a village to provide everything for our services. It also takes a village to attend to all of our other physical needs and we are very grateful for all that Don, Tim, and Chuck do that makes life at St. Paul's so much better.
