Proposed By-laws Changes Regarding Terms Wardens - October 22, 2023

The Vestry is recommending that Subsections 4.3(a) and (b) of the Bylaws of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church be amended at a Special Parish Meeting on October 22, 2023 to allow the Senior Warden and Junior Warden each to serve not-more-than three consecutive one-year terms, plus any earlier, partial term for which that warden may have been elected.

Resolution for the Proposed By-laws changes:

RESOLVED, that the first sentence of Subsection 4.1(a) of the Church bylaws is amended by replacing the word "two" with the word "three" so that Section 4.1(a) reads in its entirety:

The SENIOR WARDEN is nominated by the Rector and elected at the Annual Parish Meeting.  The Senior Warden holds office for not more than three consecutive one-year terms, plus any partial term for which the Senior Warden may earlier have been elected.  A person may not serve as a Vestry Member for at least one year after serving as Senior Warden.

and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the second sentence of Subsection 4.1(b) of the Church bylaws is amended by replacing the word "two" with the word "three" so the Subsection 4.1(b) reads in its entirety:

The JUNIOR WARDEN is nominated by the Rector and elected at the Annual Parish Meeting.  The Junior Warden holds office for not more than three consecutive one-year terms, plus any partial term            for which the Junior Warden may earlier have been elected.
